COLLINE TERAMANE: the first
Abruzzo D.O.C.G. |
 |
|
|
Montepulciano d'Abruzzo
It has been since 1992 that
DOC Montepulciano d’Abruzzo can
make use of “Colline Teramane”
under zone indication that is
referred to the wine produced in
the hilly lands of the province
of Teramo. After 11 years the
longed-for acknowledgment
eventually came and gives it the
full right to enter the Italian
restricted DOCG, Guaranteed and
Controlled Origin Denomination.
The wine it comes from is
Montepulciano (not to be
mistaken for the Toscana town
having the same name).
Montepulciano is considered
typically from Abruzzo. The
wines that are obtained are
fruited through naturally soft
tannins; they are provided with
a good alcohol rate and they can
be placed at a high level within
the national and international
oenological scenario.
How to recognize it
Each label must mention the
Guaranteed and Controlled Origin
Denomination near all the other
indications provided by the law:
the specific region the product
comes from; product Denomination
that consists of the coupling of
the grapevine variety the wine
comes from and of the
geographical areas where this
variety is grown; wine nominal
volume; name or corporate name
and bottler’s seat; bottler’s
name and code that can also be
shown on the closing system (cork
or crown cap); State name; lot
Indication; ecological
Indications.
